From our kitchens, back to the earth.

At Breaffy House Resort, we believe there’s more to food waste than what’s left on the plate. Through our on-site composting system, food scraps from our kitchens and coffee grounds are given a second life, becoming nutrient-rich compost.

By composting here at the resort, we reduce the amount of organic waste sent away for disposal and turn it into something useful. Compost helps enrich soil, retain moisture and support healthy plant growth—a simple way to put everyday leftovers to good use.

And we like to share the goodness. Guests can take home a complimentary bag of compost for their own gardens, bringing a little piece of Breaffy home with them. We’ve also supplied compost to Castlebar Tidy Towns, supporting the people who help keep our local community looking its best.
